Training Structure
You will meet with a CFI prior to training to discuss previous aeronautical experience in order to tailor the program to meet your needs.
- Instructors are available seven days a week, which allows you to schedule lessons at your own convenience.
- You are expected to do most studying by yourself and be prepared for each lesson.
- The complex airplane experience requirement is met using a C172RG.
- Sign up for Sporty’s Commercial Pilot Training Course to prepare for the knowledge test
- Once you reach the required level of proficiency, your instructor will recommend you for the practical test.
General Requirements
- Private Pilot Certificate
- 18 years old
- Valid medical certificate
- Current flight review
Hours Required
- 250 hours of total flight time
- 100 hours PIC (50 in an airplane)
- 50 hours of cross-country time
- 20 hours of training, including:
• 10 hours in a complex or technically advanced airplane
• 10 hours of instrument flight training
